Bird Voices · Illustrations
Illustrations created as a free, personal project. They were meant to be CD covers for a friend, a series of four CDs which original cover art got lost. The CDs are called 'Vogelstimmen' (Bird Voices) and contain bird voices of European singing birds.
I wanted to use a given, limited colour scale and simplified geometric illustrations that allow identifying the birds quickly. The birds featured on the four covers: Wagtail, long-tailed tit, stonechat and nuthatch.
I studied photos of the birds, sketched them and illustrated them digitally. The colour schemes were the basis to create environments for the birds and in the end each bird also got its own microphone.
